The Director of Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle took the decision to resign from her post after the shooting on 13th July, killing fire chief Corey Comperatore and injuring 3 people, including Donald Trump.
The former US president got away with just a light ear injury but 50-year-old husband and father Corey Comperatore died while protecting his family from the bullets with his body!
Ms Cheatle declared that she takes “full responsibility for the security lapse”.
Following the resignation, the Deputy Director of the US Secret Service Ronald L Rowe was appointed as acting Director.
